It shouldn't come as a surprise that Gabriel Iglesias' show Saturday at the Bob Hope Theatre is sold out. There's a big market for Latino comedians locally, and both Carlos Mencia and George Lopez have done very well here in the past. Latino musicians like Vicente Fernandez and Marco Antonio Solis also have played to sold-out crowds in Stockton.

Hopefully, promoters of events featuring Latino entertainers will get the message that there is money to be made in Stockton and bring more shows to the city's biggest venues. And hopefully city officials and International Facilties Group, which manages the Hope and arena, will work to encourage those promoters.
